Beads of Courage: AVL Bead Challenge


Arts-in-Medicine for Children with Serious Illness

The Beads of Courage Program is designed to support and strengthen children and families coping with serious illness. To mark major treatment milestones, children receive donated, handmade, one-of-a-kind glass beads. Through the program members tell their story using the colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage to honor and acknowledge each step of their treatment journey.



Who: We are Challenging our local community of bead makers to volunteer 1.5 hours of their talent to create and donate ‘Act of Courage’ beads.


When: May 20th 11:00 am – 5:00 pm Studio Stroll Weekend


Where: North Carolina Glass Center, 140 Roberts St, Suite B, Asheville, NC 28806
